HUMAN SYNERGY PROJECT / GUATEMALA
Many of you already know the extend of our project in Guatemala. The moment we set foot in this beautiful country, we met people eager to learn and improve there life. It is not the goal of HSP to change there life style, but to help them achieve there own objectives.
HSP covers a wide range of area of life. From preserving the forest via "Sustainable Management Programs", through education of children and adults, we where invited to help a secondary alternative school in El Remate, Petén.
Two years ago, this school started a vegetable garden. We decided to start there by re-activated this dying project. After only two weeks, toilets where install and ready to use. For most of us, this is so natural that's it goes without saying. This school of 84 children from age 12 to 19 was open almost 10 years ago.
As we were talking with the director and the 2 teachers, we were wondering where the kids go when they have to use the toilet. "Well, they walk to the village" they told us. HSP believe in a "sustainable approached". So how can we finance this project? First, let's have vegetables. We planted seeds some 3 weeks ago. Looking forward eating our own tomato soon.
We have a short, mid and long term program for this school location. More information coming soon on our website. As another short term solution, we have contacted local manufacturer of different item that you can see now on line.The qualities of those items are great, and the prices are excellent. For them and for you. It goes without saying. Tapestries, clothing, jewels and toys for all taste.
